The Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CEI) and its Kiota Hub have been spearheading efforts to promote entrepreneurship and innovation in the Southern Highlands and other Regions of Tanzania.
MAJOR ACTIVITIES OF CEI
The Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CEI) at the University of Iringa, established in 2008, focuses on promoting entrepreneurship and innovation through training, research, and consultancy.
Entrepreneurship and Innovation
This means helping people develop the knowledge, skills, confidence, and practical experience they need to start, manage, and grow businesses while developing innovative solutions to problems.
Research and consultancy.
It involves conducting research to identify business opportunities, understand challenges, evaluate markets, and develop practical solutions, while providing expert advice to entrepreneurs, businesses, institutions, and organizations.
Evidence Based Advocacy and Public-Private Sector Dialogue
This initiative focuses on using reliable evidence, research findings, and data to influence policies, improve the business environment, and strengthen cooperation

Mission
To be an effective catalyst for business development, job creation, productivity, and income generation through innovation and entrepreneurship training, research, consultancy, and policy advocacy within the Southern Highlands Zone and Tanzania at large.
